About the Data
Demonstration disclaimer
This dashboard is a prototype built by Edgent LLC for Rochester City School District solicitation RFP-MC-062626-MTSS-CS, Component C (a public-facing data dashboard for district KPIs, student outcomes, and MTSS / Community School impact). All figures shown are synthetic demonstration data. School names, partner names, counts, and rates are generated for illustration; no real student records, staff records, or district systems are represented.
What the dashboard shows
- Enrollment & demographics — total enrollment, ELL and IEP shares, and multi-year enrollment trend.
- Academic achievement — state assessment proficiency (ELA, Math) and graduation / college-and-career readiness.
- Attendance & engagement — average daily attendance, chronic absenteeism at the District’s threshold, and daily trends by school.
- Behavior & school climate — suspensions per 100 students by subgroup.
- MTSS — Tier 1 / 2 / 3 distribution by school and grade, and intervention volume and effectiveness over time.
- Community Schools — referrals opened and closed (the “closed loop”), and service frequency, duration, and impact by partner.
Methodology notes
- All figures are aggregates computed in the district data platform (gold-layer tables) and served read-only to this site. No student-level data ever reaches the dashboard.
- N-size suppression: any cell describing fewer than the District’s minimum group size is suppressed at the source and shown as “suppressed for privacy” — never as a zero.
- Chronic absenteeism counts students missing at least 10% of enrolled school days; the threshold is a policy setting.
- Closed-loop rate is the share of community-school referrals confirmed as delivered by the partner organization.
- Impact score is a 0–100 composite of attendance, engagement, and goal-completion indicators for students receiving a service.
- Figures refresh automatically about once a minute as the data platform publishes new aggregates.
- Every access to district data is recorded in a hash-chained, tamper-evident audit log; this site displays the chain-integrity status and aggregate access counts. The full searchable log is restricted to authorized district administrators.
Privacy & compliance
The production design follows FERPA, COPPA, and NY Education Law §2-d, and the District’s Data Privacy Agreement: aggregated publication only, automatic small-group suppression, read-only scoped access tokens held server-side, and Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility practices (semantic markup, keyboard navigation, text alternatives for every chart, and color never used as the only carrier of meaning).
